OK I admit it – I’m a relative beginner when it comes to BDSM. I’ve been tied up a couple of times (using silk ties, and another time a dressing gown belt!) and I’ve used handcuffs and a blindfold. Packaging & Description

I can’t say very much about the packaging as it comes in a plain, transparent bag. Inside you will find your paddle and an instruction booklet. The paddle is dual sided; with padded satin on one side and stiff, faux leather on the other. The satin is silky smooth and the padding offers a more gentle, sensuous slap. The black, faux leather side feels cool to the touch and is firmer. It’s relatively light in terms of weight.

The paddle has a handle to paddle ratio of approx. 50/50, so you can get a good grip on it to deliver a proper smack. It’s easy to hold and has a strap to attach the paddle to your wrist. You could also use the strap to hang your paddle up with your whips, if you have a collection!

Instantly as I put the paddle in my hand, I feel in control, like a real dominatrix! I’ve never had that experience before, whenever we’ve played ‘tie up’ it’s me who gets to be the submissive. I’d really love to try out the role of domme one day!

In use

The instruction booklet it comes with recommends you use the satin side first and begin by smoothing it over your skin before each spank. This feels lovely, and the anticipation is intense as you know what’s coming! I love the feel of being spanked on my bum, and with the Fifty Shades Paddle it isn’t painful but it makes a delicious sound. Husband tends to use it on me as he isn’t keen on being the ‘spankee’ but I’m a willing participant.
He begins with the satin side, gently smoothing it over my bum. Then he raises his arm and delivers a satin spank right across my left bum cheek. He lifts his arm higher with each spank, alternating from cheek to cheek and occasionally smoothing my skin with the silver satin. He builds up to using the black side, which definitely delivers more of a sting.

I love the sensation, and hubby clearly loves this role! The noise is incredibly satisfying; it sounds different depending on which side you use. We achieve a deeper sound from the black side, and it delivers more of a fast slap. Neither side particularly hurts; but they do produce some fantastic red marks on my derriere!

Recommendations

I would recommend the Fifty Shades Twitchy Palm Spanking Paddle for beginners, definitely! If you’re keen to experiment with light BDSM then give this a try. I would also recommend this for more experienced users as it’s so easy to hold and use although it isn’t painful at all, so if you are building up to something more hardcore then this may be too ‘beginner’ for you. Either way, it’s a great item to add to your collection!
